What we do
Answer questions & create connections
As we speak, there is a first-time professional in every industry, field, or skilled trade, navigating the space for the first time. If that’s you, welcome to FGPM.
There are two main assistance components to our organization: Our Library and our Mentorship Program. For corporate FAQs, thoughtful interviews, workplace insights on the first gen experience, and other at-a-glance Articles, please visit our Library.
Mentorship Overview
Multi-generational advice and expertise
FGPM is proud to facilitate a cross-generational Mentorship Program, benefitting first generation students and professionals, as well as Milwaukee’s established professional mentors. Pairings will be based on desired skillset development, communication preferences, industry, and mutual goals for the relationship. In order to get the most out of the Program, we expect quality commitment by both mentors and mentees, including equitable feedback from both participants. Check out the Mentorship Training guide for Program objectives, conversation thought-starters, and other helpful tactics as you begin your mentorship journey.
For Mentorship Program inquiries, or to provide Program or pairing feedback, please email mentorship@fgpm.org
